VILLAGE INITIATIVE
The VILLAGE Initiative is a collaborative project, spearheaded by Pulaski County Youth Services, that brings together community- and faith-based resources to address and reduce over-representation of minority youth in contacts with the juvenile justice system.
VILLAGE uses the proven effectiveness of mentoring as a way to bolster self-esteem, foster interest in academic achievement, and create relationships that motivate and transform lives for the better.
VILLAGE uses the initial letters of the words Vision, Integrity, Leading, Learning, Advancing, Giving and Encouragement to form an acronym that illustrates many facets of the project.
